Will you be one of those people who help their airport break the record for the second year in a row?
So now that you have an idea of how long it takes, let’s plan your trip – here are some frequently asked questions.
How Early Should I Book My Flight To Vegas?
We’re going to be real – we wrote a guide on how to visit Vegas on a budget recently and one of our tips was to make sure you book early.
For international travelers, it’s best to book your flights at least 3 to 6 months ahead. However, be mindful of the risk of booking too early. If you book too early you may end up paying a higher price. Airlines often change their pricing based on demand.
For domestic travelers (and those from Canada) you can get away with booking 1 to 3 months ahead – but again, if you book even further out than this you’ll likely pick up a better deal.
Black Friday is also a good time to book your vacation, many airlines and travel agents offer deals that will give you a great discount.
One word of advice is that if you’re in Vegas to enjoy the brunches, hotel buffets, pool parties, happy hours, casinos, and outdoor activities then you’ll want to AVOID weekends where there are large events. For 2025 that’s essentially the weekend Las Vegas Raiders have a home game, F1’s visit to Vegas, and Wrestlemania weekend.
If you’re still unsure of when to book, set up a few flight alerts and you’ll see how pricing fluctuates.
Here’s a screenshot of how pricing has changed in the past few weeks for flights to Vegas from Vancouver (April 17th to 20th).
You can see that the price was much higher in July, it dropped in August and is now on the way up again.
How Much Does It Cost To Fly to Las Vegas?
It really depends on where you’re flying from – if you’ve been holding off on flying to Vegas for the past few years we recommend planning your trip sooner rather than later. Over the past two years airline ticket prices are up 25%, outpacing inflation levels in many countries around the world.
That said in 2024:
- The average cost of a flight to Las Vegas from within the US is $174.
- The average cost of a flight to Las Vegas from Canada is C$377
