6 Things You Should Do in a Hotel – at Least Once!
There’s just something about waking up in a room that’s not yours that’s a little bit exhilarating. Whether that’s because of the fun you had the night before or the simple pleasure of knowing you don’t have to make the bed, a nice stay in a hotel – particularly a Las Vegas hotel – is a universally loved activity. But if you’ve never tried any of these activities during your stay in a hotel, it’s time you start living – and really taking advantage of that experience.
Have breakfast
In Las Vegas, you’ll find that many hotels include the price of breakfast in their room price, but we’re not necessarily talking just about the continental buffet downstairs (of course, if it’s offered, you should try it at least once). If you’ve never done it, there’s just something luxurious about ordering room service first thing in the morning. Maybe it’s the domed plates filled with hot bacon and sizzling pancakes, or the fact that you’re still in your plush robe and slippers, but breakfast in your room is the ultimate decadence.
Check out the bar
For many people, a hotel is where you head back to after the day’s activities are done. But in Las Vegas, it’s often that the activities start right in the hotel. Many of this city’s best bars and clubs are in hotels – and one (or more) could be just downstairs in yours! Check out your hotel bar if you haven’t already. There’s something relaxing and liberating about knowing you can call it a night and be in bed simply in the time it takes to wait for the lobby elevator.
Host a party
Your hotel room doesn’t have to be your private sanctuary all the time. When you’ve got a sweet room with a spectacular view, that and some killer food and beverages are all you need for a good time. Invite some close friends for a relaxed, glamorous evening of wine and cheese in the comfort of your home away from home.
Decompress
Chances are, it’s not often you even get to sleep in – let alone spend the bulk of a day in bed. If you’re staying in a premium hotel, it’s time to take advantage of that bed and give yourself a chance to decompress. If you’ve chosen the right hotel, you’ll be welcomed with high-quality sheets, fluffy bedding, and more pillows than you’d need for an entire slumber party. Spend the day relaxing, reading or doing some hardcore Netflix binge-watching from the comfort of someone else’s bed. The best part: no one expects you to make it later.
Let it out
We get it. Sometimes, life just has you down. And you might not be the kind of person who wallows in self-pity, but if you’re ever going to do that, we can think of no other place in the world to do it than in a Las Vegas hotel. So you don’t have family or friends willing to indulge your gloom. Once you check into a hotel, you’ve got a whole staff of people who are paid to do just that. Order room service, vent to the bartender or engage in some serious retail therapy (likely right in the comfort of your own hotel). Las Vegas is the perfect backdrop for any emotional breakdown.
Reserve the suite
It might feel excessive to reserve a suite when all you really need is a bed and a shower, but trust us; there’s something so luxurious about staying in a luxe hotel suite. Imagine coming home from a day of work (and a night of play) to a gorgeous space larger than most New York City apartments. And if you’re entertaining, it’s all the wiser; you can treat guests to food and drinks in your sitting room while keeping your bedroom a private oasis.
