I am a diamond member. The resort fee is waived but, does that mean I receive free internet service for my tablet and or droid phone?
Hi Donna
I am not a diamond member myself so i wouldn’t be 100% sure about this but my knowledge is that unfortunately you would have to pay for the internet access ($14.99/24h).
I have just sent an email to my contact at CET to confirm that. I’ll get back to you asap.
Hi Donna,
I have your answer, unfortunately this is what i thought, here’s what Caesars says : “Diamond Tier members are not required to pay the resort fee. As part of the Tier Benefits, the Resort Fee bundle is optional. […] If they choose to use the amenities included in the resort fee, such as in-room Internet, they will be charged a la carte.”
This is bad in my opinion but in the past years we’ve seen all the player’s club programs decreasing a lot in value all around the strip.
What i would suggest : as you’re diamond i guess you’re doing a decent amount of play during your trips, so what i would do is i would contact a casino host during my stay and ask him if he can waive the internet fees. I believe this is something they can easily do (and should do in my opinion) providing you give them some action as far as gambling.
I just attempted to make reservations at the Hilton Grand Vacation hotels listed on your site. They all charge a $25 resort fee.
Hi Karen,
Thank you for the info! I just updated the post and the listing!
Excalibur website lists their fee at $29
Daily Resort Fee
A daily resort fee of $29.12 (tax inclusive) will be added to the guest room account and includes the following: Wi-Fi service in the guest room; access to the fitness center; incoming faxes; and daily newspaper.
Hi Connie
Thank you for the info i just updated the listing.
I wrote this article in February 2015 and even thought i did a few updates on it since that i might have missed some changes like the one you spotted.
I am planning on doing a fresh new listing early 2016!
We just got back from staying at Monte Carlo in Las Vegas. The resort fee was $33.60 per night. According to your list a what we should receive: we did NOT have coffee or even one bottle of water. The remaining items may not have been needed….
Hi Jean
I am sorry to hear about your bad experience regarding the resort fees at Monte Carlo and the fact that my article was not accurate about them.
As a reminder we are just an independant information website, i wrote this article in February 2015, it was not an easy task to find all this info about each hotel and although i try to keep it updated as much as possible, hotels unfortunately have a tendancy of increasing their resort fees regularly nowadays without doing some press release about it which is why i am not always aware of those changes…
I have planned to do a fresh new listing early 2016.
Until then, thank you for your feedback, i have just updated the list (changed the rate to $30 (+ tax = $33.60) and deleted the in-room coffee and water) so that it can help other readers!
Regards
Erwan
The hotel is terrible and I saw the resort charge I realize how bad is this hotel 47.04 for 2 night is too much. When we make a reservation was suppose to see it in our pre bill. Terrible I’m feeling abused .
Hi Dyson,
If you’re talking about the Circus Circus for sure it’s not the most luxurious hotel in town…
As for the resort fees they charge $21+tax per night (equals $47.04 for 2 nights including tax), if you book directly with them or through vegas.com for example they do mention the resort fees when you book (but you still only pay them at check out).
Now if you book through general third party bookers or travel agents, some of them don’t mention the fees (because they are either not aware of them or they are not being honest and just don’t want to show you the real price of your stay…) This is why i created this article in the first place to try to warn everyone about those resort fees that might be hidden depending on who you book your stay through.
Flamingo is now charging me $29 a night ($32.48 after taxes) for my 2016 reservations. I think I won’t be going to Vegas anymore, I’ve lost every single time in the past year – it’s not fun anymore. My vacation $$$ can be spent elsewhere.
Hi Andreas
Thank you for the info, i just updated the list! I hope you will be more lucky on your next trip!
So you can keep helping others. The Bellagio just charged us 32.00 + tax (35.84) a night for our stay this month (Nov 2015)
Came as a shock. Didn’t feel I got any value for my extra money. Feel deceived by them…. sigh
Thank you Rebecca i updated the list!
Great site. These fee’s will catch up to Vegas and it will suffer sooner or later. It’s a shame.
Rio is 32.48 now for Dec,2015
Thank you Hamid.
I am in the process of checking again every hotel resort fees one by one and will be publishing an updated 2016 guide before the end of the year!
Dear Erwan can you verify if the days in at wild wild west still including breakfast? An if the real daily fee is now 7+?
Hi Quime
The resort fee at wild wild west has been increased to $7.99 + tax (=$8.95) and it doesn’t include breakfast anymore 🙁
You can find an updated list on the 2020 guide we published: https://www.lasvegasjaunt.com/resort-fees/
I’m travelling from the UK to Vagus in June, staying at Caesars Palace, question: are the resort fees per room per person or just per room?
Regards
Les
Hi Les,
the resort fees are per room, no matter how many people stay in that room.
Hello, I am relatively new to all this booking stuff in Vegas. Can someone please tell me how they actually come up with the TOTAL cost of room rental? I mean I see there is the room charge say for example I book two nights and it says it costs me $491.00 Canadian. The hotel then says you have to pay 12% tax and a 29.00 USD per night resort fee. So do they take the 491.00 Canadian and add the 12% tax to that or just add the 12% tax to the resort fee first, then add the USD resort fee to the $491.00 Canadian. Do they charge USD amount when I book or when I check out, meaning do I pay the exchange rate on the day or booking or when I check out? I am trying figure out EXACTLY how much my room will cost of two nights with ALL the above charges? Thank you! 😉
Hi Janine,
it depends on how you book your room (on the hotel website or on a third party booker) but basically the CA$491 you mentionned would be the room rate before tax which means you should add 12% tax to it, then you wwould be charged the resort fee on top of that which in your example would be US$29 + 12%tax.
If you book directly on the hotel website you would generally just pay for the fiorst night upfront as a guarantee then you would pay the rest when you check out, but if you book with a third party booker you would pay the all stay upfront except for the resort fees that you would always pay when you check out.
If you want you can send me an email at contact@www.www.lasvegasjaunt.com i would be glad to assist you to understand exactly how much will your room cost you and i could help you find the best deal available!
Hi,
I have been staying at the Venetian last weekend and resort fees are not $25/night but $35.84/night!
Hi Estelle,
thank you for your feedback, you are right the Venetian resort fee is now $32+tax = $35.84. but you are here on the 2015 list article, i made an updated list for 2016 here (including the Venetian increase) : https://www.lasvegasjaunt.com/resort-fees/
Is the resort fee per person?
Hi Sharon,
Resort fees are per room
Thank you
