Wayne Newton: Up Close & Personal is Mr. Las Vegas in a small room: songs with a three-piece band, film clips and stories from more than sixty years on the Strip, and questions from the audience. It plays the Flamingo, where Newton first headlined in 1963, and has been back there since January 2022.
The room is Bugsy's Cabaret, branded the Wayne Newton Theater for the show: a couple of hundred seats around a hexagonal stage. Reserved sections 1 and 3 sit either side of it, General Admission in the wings outside them. Our short answer: the front rows of section 1 or 3.
Best seats for Wayne Newton
The best seats are the rows nearest the stage in sections 1 and 3, which sit either side of it and are angled toward it.
The two sections mirror each other. Pick the seats closest to the aisle between them for the straightest view of the stage.
Best value seats
For value, take Platinum Reserved: a reserved seat in section 1 or 3 (rows C and D on the map we checked), for less than VIP Reserved.
VIP Reserved adds a meet and greet with Wayne Newton after the show. Ticketmaster's map doesn't show where VIP seats are, so if being in the very front matters to you, ask before you buy.
Seats to avoid
General Admission is the one to think twice about: it's the cheapest, but it's in the wings on the outside of sections 1 and 3, at the widest angle to the stage.
It's fine if you mostly want to hear him and the stories. If you take it, arrive early for a seat nearer the front.
Accessible seating
Wheelchair seating isn't marked on the seat map. Call the Flamingo box office before you book so a space is set aside.
Section by section
Sections 1 and 3
The reserved seats, on either side of the stage and turned toward it. Front rows are as close as you can get; the further back, the more you look across the stage rather than at it.
Section 2
Section 2 faces the stage head-on from the back of the room. It was greyed out, not on sale, on the seat map we checked. If it opens for your date, it's a good straight view from further back.
General Admission
Two wings, outside sections 1 and 3. The cheapest tickets, at the sharpest angle to the stage.
Good to know before you go
- Shows are at 7 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, but not every week: some weeks are dark while he plays elsewhere, so check your date.
- The show runs about an hour and a half.
- Expect a lot of storytelling, and a question and answer segment with the audience.
- The VIP meet and greet happens after the show.
Other shows in this theater
