Everything to Know About Lake Las Vegas

About 30 minutes from the Strip lies Lake Las Vegas. It’s a beautiful, relaxing escape from the bright lights of Sin City. You’ll find waterfront dining, outdoor activities, golf, and resort-style accommodations. So should you visit?

Our answer is a resounding yes. If you’re traveling to Las Vegas from outside of the USA or in town for more than a couple of days, then Lake Las Vegas should definitely be on your list of things to see.

However, once you’re here, what do you do?

We’re going to answer that question for you.

Whether you’re planning a day trip, a weekend stay, or a longer getaway, here’s everything you need to know about what to do at Lake Las Vegas… but before we get started:

Where is Lake Las Vegas?

Despite its name, Lake Las Vegas is not in Las Vegas.

It’s located in Henderson, 30 to 40 minutes away from the Strip and popular hotels like MGM Grand, Cosmopolitan, Aria, Wynn, or The Venetian.

You could use Uber or Lyft, but having a car is recommended.

If you’re visiting for a day trip, you’ll find that there’s free parking in many locations, including the Hilton.

Vegas to Lake Las Vegas

Now that you know where Lake Las Vegas is and how to get there, here’s a list of things you can do while you’re there.

Things to Do at Lake Las Vegas (Activities, Places to Stay, Eat, Drink & More)

Water Activities

Before we talk about water activities, it’s important to mention that swimming is NOT allowed in the lake. But don’t worry.

There are plenty of other fun and relaxing ways to enjoy the water.

You can rent electric boats all year (you drive them yourself; two-hour rentals for up to 9 or 12 people start at $149 per boat as of November 2026), and kayaks and paddleboards from spring. Whether you’re in a large group or just looking for a quiet solo ride, there’s an option for everyone (you can find rentals here).

And if relaxation is your priority, take a private electric boat out at golden hour for a calm sunset cruise.

Golfing

That’s right. Golfing, Lake Las Vegas is home to two beautiful golf courses, and both offer a different experience. These are Reflection Bay Golf Club and SouthShore Country Club. SouthShore Country Club is beautiful, but it’s private so we’re going to focus our attention on the former.

Reflection Bay Golf Club is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design course (the only one in Nevada) and is open to the public. It has hosted the Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge several times, so you’ll play where tour pros have competed. The green fields extend out onto the lake, giving you 360-degree views of glimmering water and rugged mountains.

After your round, you can unwind at the clubhouse, which has a pro shop and on-site dining.

We may be biased, but Reflection Bay isn’t just a great golf course.

It’s one of the best places in the world to tee off.

Hiking & Biking

If you love the outdoors, Lake Las Vegas has some great spots for hiking and biking. In Henderson, there are over 184 miles worth of trails that offer incredible desert and lake views.

One of the best trails in the area is the River Mountains Loop Trail. This 34-mile paved trail connects Lake Las Vegas to Boulder City and Lake Mead. It’s a favorite among cyclists, but walkers and runners also enjoy the scenic desert landscape and occasional wildlife sightings.

Another nearby option is Clark County Wetlands Park, which offers a more relaxed walking experience with plenty of shade, desert flora, and local wildlife, including jackrabbits, birds, and even the occasional coyote.

Whether you’re looking for a challenging cycling route or a scenic walk, the trails around Lake Las Vegas offer a refreshing way to experience the desert landscape and maybe burn off some of the calories gained from dining at the best restaurants in Las Vegas.

Resorts & Spas

Lake Las Vegas has two stunning resorts that offer luxury accommodations, pools, and spa services. Sure, you could stay at one of the many hotels in Henderson, but The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa and Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa offer something truly magnificent.

The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa is a lakefront property with a peaceful atmosphere and plenty of amenities. It features a white sand beach (open seasonally), multiple pools, and a spa. The resort is also home to Marssa, a high-end restaurant known for its steaks and Japanese dishes (which we’ll talk more about later).

Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa offers a Mediterranean-style setting tucked against the mountains. Its outdoor pool is perfect for relaxing, and its spa has 24 treatment rooms. The open-air Firenze Lounge serves cocktails and light meals, making it a good choice for visitors looking for a more social atmosphere.

Both resorts have free self-parking. If you’re not staying overnight, call ahead to ask about spa appointments and pool day passes, which depend on the day and the season.

Dining & Nightlife

Whether you’re spending one day at Lake Las Vegas, a weekend, or a few days, you’re going to need to eat.

As you’d expect from a world-class travel destination Lake Las Vegas has a mix of casual and upscale dining, with most restaurants located in The Village, the lake’s waterfront shopping and entertainment district.

Luna Rossa is one of the best spots for authentic Italian cuisine, offering fresh pasta, thin-crust pizza, and a lakeside patio with stunning views.

Mimi’ & Coco’ Bistro serves French Mediterranean dishes such as steak frites, making it a great place for a romantic dinner or a relaxed lunch with friends.

Sonrisa Grill is a popular Mexican-style restaurant with a tequila bar and a live music calendar.

We’ve already mentioned Marssa at the Westin for something more upscale. Here you’ll find Wagyu and Certified Angus Beef steaks alongside Japanese-inspired dishes and sushi.

While Lake Las Vegas doesn’t have the Strip’s nightlife, it has live entertainment, wine tastings, and waterfront dining that make for a more relaxed, scenic evening.

Seasonal Events

Honestly, you can visit Lake Las Vegas at any time of the year, but certain seasons make it even more exciting, especially during holidays and special occasions.

Fireworks over the lake have marked the Fourth of July in past years (see the 2024 show in the video below), and the reflections on the water make for an unforgettable view.

Free concerts on the floating water stage at The Village bring music lovers to the lake. In 2026 they ran every Saturday in May, from 7 to 10 pm. Bring a lawn chair; parking is free in the Hilton garage.

The Village also hosts farmers markets, smaller concerts and festivals, such as the free Dragon Boat Festival in October.

Dates change every year, so check the Lake Las Vegas events calendar before you go.

See? We told you: Lake Las Vegas is a fun place to visit no matter the time of year.

Lake Las Vegas: Where Adventure Meets Relaxation
