Las Vegas Resort Fees 2017 Guide
We manually checked over 100 Vegas hotels to update our resort fee list for 2017!
Here is a quick reminder if you’re new to the idea of resort fees:
What is a Resort Fee?
In recent years, most Las Vegas hotels have implemented “resort fees.”
These daily supplementary charges are not included in the initial booking cost (when booked through the hotel website or via a third party). The fees are due to the hotel at the end of the stay. In other words, you pay resort fees upon check out.
In return, these supplementary fees allow you access to some of the services within the facility.
For several years, these resort fees have been a source of contention as consumers believe that they are, in many ways, hidden charges. Indeed, they are managed completely independently of the quoted nightly room rate, so upon booking, the price per night offered might seem lower.
Quoted prices never include resort fees, which can create confusion for the customer who finds out only when he has pay the bill at the end of his stay.
On January 5, 2017, the Federal Trade Commission released an Economic Analysis of Hotel Resort Fees concluding that:
This analysis finds that separating mandatory resort fees from posted room rates without first disclosing the total price is likely to harm consumers by increasing the search costs and cognitive costs of finding and choosing hotel accommodations.
And yet, resort fees persist.
When making your hotel reservations – either directly on the hotel websites or through tour operators and travel agents – we advise you to be very vigilant about resort fees in order to take them into account in your travel budget!
This is why we’ve compiled below the complete list of Las Vegas hotel resort fees that includes the amount charged.
Note that the amounts are given before taxes which, at present, would add an additional 12.5%, but the tax will increase from 12.5% to 13.38% on 3/1/2017!
You will notice that the highest resort fees reach $39 per night before tax, which is $43.87 including tax per night! In some cases, the resort fee can be higher than the room rate!
Fee increases in 2017
Most of the 84 hotels listed below increased their resort fees in the recent months.
Fun fact: if you would book one night in each of these 84 hotels in 2017. it would cost you $2,048 (+tax) in resort fees. This is an average of $24.38 per hotel!
The average resort fee amount last year was $22.84, that’s a 7% increase!
Here are a few notable increases observed:
- From $32 to $39: PALAZZO, VENETIAN
- From $32 to $35: ARIA, BELLAGIO, VDARA, MANDARIN ORIENTAL

Awesome information, Thank-you I love all your emails!
Tracey A Canadian Visitor
Thank you Tracey i appreciate that!
Thankyou
Thanks for all your work. In Ontario Canada, we can ask that the resort fee not be charged and it won’t. Once the bill is processed it is much more difficult to get it taken off.
Are you saying that you don’t pay in Vegas, or in Canada?
‘Drip pricing’ should absolutely be banned and is a disgraceful tactic by hotels to lower the headline rate. If these charges are compulsory then they should be included as part of the room rate.
Thanks for the list, I’ll be using to stay at a hotel without a resort fee
Palace station is $16.79 per night now. Per their website.
Thank you that is the amount tax included.
I display all the amounts before tax ($15 for Palace Station).
The tax is 12.5% at the moment but will increase to 13% on march 1st.
Are the resort fees charged per room, or per person in a room?
Is this per room or per person? Can you instruct them not to charge the resort fee prior to arrival?
Resort fee is charged per room no matter how many people are staying in the room. Yu will be charged for it when you check out.
Hooters is now $26 + tax
You are right Pete thank you!
It’s crazy. There is a FB offer of BOGOF where you can get a room for 12.50 a night but the resort fee is 26.00, i.e over twice the room rate.
There was a time that the items that hotels use to justify these exorbitant fees were “optional” to those who used wifi, parking, the pool, etc. Now, all of us pay even if we do not use any of these things. Criminal! Only in the US!
BUT NOW a lot hotels charge daily parking fee excalibur charged us daily parking fee which was good at all company hotels how ever used to be free so on top 30 resort fee if parking a car add approx ten a day parking
you are right Jack most strip hotels now charge a parking fee we did write a guide about it: https://www.lasvegasjaunt.com/las-vegas-paid-parking-fees-2017-guide/
Not only that, some of them now charges for things used to justify the resort fee, like parking, hi-speed internet, coffee. Resort fee gives you access to your own paid for room pretty much.
I still remember when the items included in the “resort fees” were optional and only those who used them were charged. That made sense. Now, all of us pay even if we do not use the pool or wifi or have a vehicle to park. Absurd! Only in the US would a business get away with such a scam.
Who are the real crooks in Vegas. Corperate America or the mob. The mob never charged resort fees.
stratosphere is now $28.33/ night.
Tahiti Village Resort Fee is now $17/night + tax = $19.21/night.
Cosmopolitan is now $35 + tax
Thank you Pete!
Be careful about reservation by booking.com or vegas.com they charge you 20$ for resort fee at the M RESORT according to your list and the website ot M RESORT no fees
Hi Jean,
Unfortunately the M resort did add a resort fee recently: $19.99 tax included.
At the end of the stay? You pay the “resort fee” up front, then have between $50 and $100 a night put “on hold” for incidentals. So that “special rate” of $35 is actually closer to $150 to $200/night.
Arizona Charlies – Daily resort fee of $7.50 + tax.
Thank you Nicholas!
Eastside Cannery now charges a $7.90 per night, per room resort fee. Hoping we get some legislation soon that eliminates these bogus hidden charges. Better to see them upfront, while booking. Not as if they’re optional, right? It truly is a deceptive bait-n-switch scheme.
Thank you John i have added it to the list!
Is Hilton timeshares are per stay or per night, some las vegas timeshare charge one time fee per stay not nightly
Hi Lincoln,
Hilton Grand Vacation charges the resort fee per night!
You already paid the equivalent of the resort fee when you purchase a nights stay. You’r now paying for it again under the title “resort fee”.
Give your hard earned money to those hotels not ripping you off.
Mirage resort fee is $35 not $32
Hi Scott, you are right $35 for the Mirage is what our listing says 🙂
Tahiti Village Resort Fee is now $17 + tax per night
You are right thank you i updated the list!
Very comprehensive list.
Thank you
Does anyone know if Total Rewards Diamond status still waives resort fees?
Hi LT,
Yes they do, i am a diamond myself and stayed at the PH last week and the resort fees were automatically waived due to the diamond status.
PALACE STATION IS NOW 19.95 NOT 15
Hi Jim, thank you for spotting that.
I have updated the list. I have just checked their website, the resort fees is now $16.99+tax = $19.26
Wynn is now $39, and Tower Suites are no longer exempt.
Great Info Thank you! I have updated the list!
great inf need undated for sept 2017
Thank you very much for this information. No resort fees for us.
It should be noted that Treasure Island offers a TV Ad Special (also available on the hotel website) in which the resort fee is optional.
I just tried reserving a room at Super 8 at Ellis Island and they tried to charge me $20 a day for resort fees.
and the travelodge center strip? thank you for your answer.
Hi Martine if i am not mistaken it looks like Travelodge Center Strip does not charge a resort fee.
If they advertise $60 but charge $100 it’s fraud.
The increase in already unreasonable resort fees in Vegas is super annoying. The fact that they list stuff like wifi and free use of the hotel fitness center as benefits of paying the outlandish fees is insulting. Why not include color TV and air conditioning to that lame list. Even a “free” bottle of water wouldn’t make me feel any better about the resort fees. They really need to reduce or eliminate these fees, and just increase the room rates a bit. Nobody likes extra fees.
Stupid americans ruins turist business adding these non-sense payments!
Don’t blame all Americans.. it’s the greedy companies. I have to pay them too.
I stayed at the Flamingo during the first week of September 2017. This was the third time I had stayed at this resort. The resort fees are now $34.01 per night plus tax per room which is ridiculous for what you get. the rooms are run down (unless you pay extra to upgrade) and the whole place could use a good cleaning. I won’t be staying there again. All in all if you weren’t dishing out tons of money, you weren’t worth their time.
The El Cortez resort fee is now 14.95 plus tax.
Thank you Noah i just updated the list accordingly!
Thank You for your efforts showing the fees. We have not been to Las Vegas for 2 1/2 years because I think resort fees are a rip off. We used to go to Vegas three to four times a year but now we go to Laughlin most of the time. We are coming for a business meeting in Oct but its all paid for by work, but I still feel it’s a under handed practice and I feel bad about going
Hi – The Cannery and Eastside Cannery no charge resort / hotel service fees. Please update your information.
Hi Laurie,
Please check Eastside Cannery’s website on that page: http://www.eastsidecannery.com/hotel
It says that the hotel charges a resort fee:
“Hotel Service Fee of $6.99 Plus 13% tax per day Includes:
5mb High Speed Internet (Up To 3 Devices) / Access To Fitness Center & Coffee 6am-10pm Daily / Unlimited Local & 800 Calls / Parking & Valet Parking / In-Room Refrigerators / Fax Service / Boarding Passes / Iron & Ironing Board / Access To Laundry Facility-Coin Operated”
Thanks for the great info!
These casinos have raised the prices of almost everything to outrageous proportions: Hotel stay, food, use of the pool, etc. and now want people to pay “hidden” resort and parking fees. It costs a fortune just to stay in LV for the weekend!
And then they want us to gamble? With what?
And who wants to go to the fitness center or send a fax when they’re in LV? Other than Wifi (which actually doesn’t cost them more than a few pennies for each room), there usually isn’t anything I would want, even if it was free!
Bring back the “good old days” of free parking (at the very least if you’re a guest at the hotel), cheap hotel prices and food, and no resort fees.
I’d rather lose $100 gambling than pay the the same amount for resort/parking fees for a weekend.
Thanks!
you all know the only thing they understand is the all mighty dollar. Don’t go and force them to drop the fees.
Check with your hotel, these prices are very out of date
Cannery now has a $4.99 fee
You are correct thank you i have added Cannery to the list!
Trump Las Vegas is $35.00, thank you.
You are right Mary thank you the list is now updated!
Renaissance has a “daily destination fee” of about $21
You are right JC thank you we’ll update the list!
I go about once every other month, the fees keep coming with each visit. Nothing like this in Europe where I visit.
Just got into my room, heard a girl crying somewhere. Walking to my door, I then listened to a young couple walking down the hallway talking about how the parking fees (they had driven there), resort fees and a required room deposit (mine was $100 after being purchased on Expedia) took all of their weekend money away. I later heard a family that met there in two vehicles and two rooms having the same conversation in the restaurant. They couldn’t figure out how to spend the weekend there now.
Expecting grand and cheap buffets, it was a lot of work to find decent food prices on the strip using the bus or walking. Ended up eating at Walgreen’s and ABC (sandwiches and protein packs) more than once. The Gold Coast did have a great buffet for the price. Two buses and a walk or two to get there though. Strip traffic affects buses as well.
Thank you for all of your data here. It is a lot of work on your part. I never sign up for emails, however, you get my vote and a bookmark!
We stopped going to Vegas a couple of years ago due to this rip off amount amoung other things. Fitness Center? Who uses this in Vegas, one tenth of one percent. High priced food and now booze and bums up to your eyeballs. We now go to Laughlin, Wendover, or PNW tribals. Vegas casinos rip you off because you keep going. STOP now!
Renaissance Las Vegas is now charging 20.99 a day
You are right Patrick thank you we’ll update the list!
Stayed at The Cromwell Oct 27-30, 2017. Resort fee was a fixed $39.68/night + Room charge and taxes.
Hi Michael i hope you had a great trip!
Yes The Cromwell charges $35+tax as a resort fee which is $39.68 tax inluded.
A resort fee to me is a type of rip off tax and then the tax is taxed
Does Monte Carlo place a hold on your credit card?
Just got back from Aria…$39 plus tax = $45. Stayed 8 nights…$360 on top of what I had already (just about) paid. It’s such a rip-off.
We stayed at Palace station in August for 21 nights and their resort fee went from 16.79 to 24.93 including tax. They demolished courtyard, no pool, no exercise room, How do you justify the high price with less. Price for wifi and a newspaper. Goughing
I’m a bit confused about the internet access part. When we stayed at the Bellagio and the Aria, we paid the resort fee and this included in-room wi-fi, however my mother stayed at the Paris and paid the resort fee, but wi-fi was not included in the room and she had to pay extra? Which, by the way I find absolutely ridiculous- in this day and age you shouldn’t have to pay for wi-fi at a top hotel anyway, never mind it not being included in a resort fee! Thanks.
Hotel Resort Fees are ridiculous but then you also have to add in the city’s TOT and TBID fees and it is outrageous!!! Your quoted $150 room is actually a minimum of $235 once they add in all their fees.
Hotels can’t charge you for WIFI in public areas but they can charge you for private use in your room or a meeting room.
Still doesn’t day what the fee is for
Golden Nugget increased to $29.50
Thank you for the info Rico we published an updated list: https://www.lasvegasjaunt.com/las-vegas-resort-fees-2018-guide/
I just booked a room at The D on booking.com. I chose a “resort fee inclusive” room option and prepaid. Hopefully they don’t try and charge me a resort fee at checkout.
Lucky Dragon Hotel increased to $28
Thank you elena, please check our updated 2018 guide: https://www.lasvegasjaunt.com/las-vegas-resort-fees-2018-guide/
Treasure Island Las Vegas…they write: $35 optional daily resort fee plus tax not included.
The question is: Is it optional or not to pay this daily resort fee???
Anybody knows???
The new vdara resort fee is $44.00. Resort fees are getting ridiculous for free WiFi and ???
I thought it was just me. I never use anything in the hotel except the bed toilet and shower so I don’t feel its fair to pay for the use of things I never use
Stayed at the Golden Nugget over St. Patrick’s weekend 3-19 to 3-20. Price was about 300 per night too high. plus 33.00 a night for the resort fees. I will not stay at a hotel with any resort fee again, or not be back to Vegas.
Considering that well over 90% of their patrons never even see resort facilities ie Pool and crap. Resort fees and how they are charged is downright criminal. I will never stay at another Hotel in Vegas with one. NEVER. Vegas is nothing but a shakedown joint anymore. Shame.
