Mad Apple, Cirque du Soleil's New York-themed show for adults, closed on September 5, 2026 after four years at New York-New York. It opened in May 2022 and played to more than 1.2 million ticket holders over its run.
Its theater, home to Cirque's Zumanity until 2020, is now dark, and nothing has been announced for the room. With no seats left to choose, this page sums up what the theater was like and where to see Cirque du Soleil instead.
What the room was like
Depending on the source, the theater holds roughly 1,150 to 1,200 people. For Mad Apple it was split into a stageside area, main-level sections 101 to 104 and 201 to 205, and a steep balcony of sections 301 to 305, with a mix of theater seats, barstools and sofas.
Stageside tickets put you right at the stage, but you watched much of the show from behind the performers. In the final months the balcony was closed and houses were well short of full. The show ran 90 minutes with no intermission, for guests 18 and over only.
Where to see Cirque du Soleil instead
Four Cirque du Soleil shows already have tickets on sale for 2027. Unlike Mad Apple, all four admit children, though age rules differ from show to show.
- O at Bellagio: the water show, staged in and above a 1.5-million-gallon pool, for anyone who has never seen Cirque built around water.
- KÀ at MGM Grand: the stage is the star, a huge platform that rises, turns 360 degrees and tilts to near vertical, so pick it for stagecraft you won't see anywhere else.
- Mystère at Treasure Island: Cirque's first resident show in Las Vegas, running since 1993, the one to see if you want the original.
- Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay: a Cirque show built on Michael Jackson's music, with speakers in every seat, the best fit if the soundtrack matters most to you.
