Michael Jackson ONE is Cirque du Soleil's tribute to the King of Pop: dance, acrobatics and aerial acts set to his music. It has played the Michael Jackson ONE Theatre at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino since June 2013.
The fan-shaped theater holds about 1,800 seats on two levels: three sections downstairs (101, 102 and 103) and five upstairs (201 to 205). The best seats are the Golden Circle, rows G to S of center section 102; for a raised view, aim for the front of section 203.
Best seats for Michael Jackson ONE
The best seats for Michael Jackson ONE are in the Golden Circle, rows G to S of section 102, straight in front of the stage and far enough back to see the whole picture. Rows A to F of section 102 are closer still and get more of the interaction, since the performers work the lower level and its aisles, before the show too. The trade-off is that from the first rows it's harder to take in the full stage and the choreography at once.
If you'd rather look down on the show, row AA of section 203, the first row of the center upstairs section, is the pick. From the upper level you also see the aerial sequences more fully.
Best value seats
For value, sit in the middle of side sections 101 or 103, or in upstairs sections 202 to 204: good views without paying for the Golden Circle. The cheapest seats are usually at the back of sections 201 and 205, the two outer sections upstairs. You watch from the side, but the sound is as good as anywhere in the room: every seat has its own left, center and right speakers, more than 5,000 in all.
Seats to avoid
Avoid the outer edges of sections 101 and 103, where the angle limits your view of some of the stage effects and choreography. Upstairs, the far corners of 201 and 205 have the widest angle in the room, so take them for the price, not the view. Tall? The upper level has less legroom than the lower one.
Accessible seating
Wheelchair and companion seats are booked by phone with the box office, not online, so call before you buy. Seat guides don't agree on where those spaces are, so ask the box office which locations are open for your date and how they see the stage.
Section by section
Lower level: sections 101, 102 and 103
Section 102 sits in the center, facing the stage, with rows lettered from A at the front. The Golden Circle covers rows G to S, and the VIP Experience seats are also in this section.
Sections 101 and 103 flank it at an angle. From the middle of those sections the view is good; toward their outer edges it gets more limited. The whole lower level is where the cast comes into the audience.
Upper level: sections 201 to 205
Upstairs starts at row AA. Sections 202, 203 and 204 face the stage most directly, with 203 in the middle; 201 and 205, at the ends, have the widest angle and usually the lowest prices. The upper level gives a better read on the aerial acts, which happen near the side walls, but it has less legroom than the lower level.
Good to know before you go
- The show runs 90 minutes, with no intermission.
- Children under 5 are not admitted, and under-16s must be with an adult.
- Phones and pocket-sized cameras are allowed for photos; no flash, and no filming.
- If you sit downstairs, arrive a little early: some of the interaction with the audience starts before the show.
- A VIP Experience package adds a pre-show reception, a specialty drink and popcorn, VIP seating and a meet and greet with cast members.
