New Year’s Eve 2026 falls on Thursday, December 31. Before the list, here’s how New Year’s pricing works, so you know what you’re comparing.
How New Year’s Eve Hotel Pricing Works
New Year’s Eve is one of the busiest nights of the year in Las Vegas (the LVCVA expected about 345,000 visitors for the last one), so the nights around December 31 cost far more than a normal December night. A few things to know before you book:
- Rates change every day. Hotels price New Year’s Eve by demand, and rates usually climb as the date gets closer and big events sell out. That’s why we don’t print nightly prices here: they’d be out of date by the time you read them. Our hotel deals page shows today’s verified all-in prices, and each hotel’s page on our site lists its current deals.
- Price the whole stay. With New Year’s Eve on a Thursday, many visitors stay through the weekend, and some hotels set a minimum stay over the holiday (the Plaza’s 2025 New Year’s package, for example, required two nights). Compare the total for your dates, not just the rate for December 31.
- Add the fees. Most Strip resorts charge a daily resort fee on top of the room rate, and many charge for parking. See our guides to resort fees and parking fees.
- Book-early discounts have conditions. Caesars’ Book Early, Save More deal is for stays booked at least 30 days ahead, but it has blackout dates: when we checked on November 3, it didn’t apply to the nights of December 30 and 31 at Caesars Palace or The LINQ. MGM’s Advance Purchase rates take up to 10% off when you prepay, and they can’t be refunded or changed, so be sure of your dates. At these rates, ARIA and Bellagio were already sold out for December 31 in early November, while MGM Grand still had rooms.
- A credit can beat a discount. MGM’s daily food and beverage credit deals add a credit for each night of your stay, good at select participating restaurants, bars and lounges across MGM Resorts’ Las Vegas hotels. The amount depends on the hotel: $75 a night at ARIA and Bellagio and $50 at MGM Grand when we checked, not counting your checkout day. If you’ll eat and drink at the resort anyway (and on New Year’s Eve you probably will), compare it with the discounted rate.
- Location matters more than usual. The Strip closes to cars on the evening of December 31 (in 2025, from Spring Mountain Road to Tropicana Avenue by 8 PM, reopening in the early hours of January 1), so a hotel within walking distance of where you want to be saves a lot of hassle. Downtown hotels usually cost less and have their own party and fireworks on Fremont Street.
