New Years Eve in Las Vegas – The Complete Guide To NYE Parties, Concerts & Events in Vegas
Las Vegas has always been synonymous with spectacle – “New Years Eve Las Vegas” is one of the most Googled terms – beating searches for things to do and events in places like London, Tokyo, Paris, and more. Last year 400,000 people celebrated NYE in the city and on December 31st, 2024 we can expect even more revellers than last year.
There really is no better time to experience Las Vegas and the city’s larger-than-life personality than New Year’s Eve. On NYE the entire 4-mile Las Vegas Strip is turned into a giant outdoor party, drinks are flowing, dice are rolling, and the city is full of stars and good vibes. So as December 31, 2024, approaches, Vegas promises a night of unforgettable events — and to help you plan your night we’ve created a list of some of the hottest events and things you can do to ring in 2025.
A TL;DR version of events is as follows:
- Watch fireworks on the strip (or in a helicopter)
- Visit a Nightclub with Celebrity DJs and Artists
- Attend a rooftop party
- Go off Strip to Fremont Street
- Enjoy a Show
Where To Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2024/ 2025 in Las Vegas
Fireworks on the Las Vegas Strip
The Las Vegas Strip is world-famous for its New Year’s Eve fireworks display – At midnight, the sky above the Strip lights up as fireworks are launched from the rooftops of several iconic casinos – for this year’s display fireworks are scheduled to be launched from eight hotels (Aria, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, MGM Grand, Planet Holywood, The Venetian and Resorts World).
To get the best views you have a few options:
- stand among the revelers on the strip itself (free but packed)
- book a room with a view of the fireworks (book early for the best rate)
- or secure a reservation at one of the city’s top rooftop bars for a more intimate experience.
Hotels also offer specific viewing parties for fireworks- for example, the rooftop pool at the Plaza transforms into a fireworks viewing location.
But.. if you want a truly unique experience, have you considered a Helicopter tour? Nighttime Las Vegas Helicopter tours over the Strip offer a bird’s-eye, unforgettable view of the action.
Nightclub & Casino Events With Celebrity DJs and Artists
It’s normal to want to party before the fireworks start.
Las Vegas nightclubs are known for going all out, and New Year’s Eve is no exception. Expect celebrity DJs and special guests to lead the celebrations. Over the years Vegas venues have hosted major acts such as Calvin Harris, Tiësto, J Cole, Drake and this year promises more of the same. So far here’s a lineup of events you can attend:
- Bruno Mars at Dolby Live
- Three Queens of Motown at Chrome Showroom at Santa Fe Station
- Janet Jackson at Resorts World
- Tiësto at LIV Nightclub
- TAO Nightclub (will announce a special guest in the coming days)
- Zouk Nightclub (will announce a special guest in the coming days)
- Cozy’s NYE Countdown to 2025
Here’s a video of Bruno Mars the last time he played in Vegas at NYE to get you in the mood.
Rooftop Parties
We briefly mentioned a rooftop party earlier, but NYE rooftop parties deserve their own section. Whether you want to see the sky light up with fireworks or party with your friends – a rooftop party is another place to be and for many worth the fee. Here’s a line-up of events that will be updated as more venues provide details:
Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay
- GA Tickets for $150 with 2 hours of open bar
- GA Tickets for $250 with open bar from open to close – champagne toast included in both packages.
- $410.71 ($325 + tax & gratuity). Tickets include passed appetizers and an open bar from 9 PM until 1 AM all tickets include a complimentary champagne toast to ring in the new year.
- Not a rooftop bar, but an unforgettable experience high up in the air. For $500 you can book a prime midnight fireworks viewing spot. As well as priority boarding to the High Roller, you’ll have access to a VIP NYE party that starts at 10 PM with a premium open bar, catering live music and entertainment.
Time of Your Life Festival at Fremont Street Experience
The Time of Your Life Festival is a staple of Las Vegas’ New Year’s Eve – and the most iconic event in the city. If you want to be away from the strip, then Fremont Street is the place to be.
Taking over downtown’s Fremont Street, it features multiple stages with live performances across genres like rock, country, and electronic music. You’ll find up to 40 bands, including tribute acts and well-known performers.
The festival also includes a Silent Disco, where attendees dance to music through wireless headphones. The event typically offers an all-inclusive package, covering unlimited drinks at participating bars.
As midnight approaches, the massive Viva Vision canopy leads the countdown with a digital display, followed by a fireworks show. While the Strip may have the largest fireworks display, Fremont Street offers its own pyrotechnic spectacle, giving you the perfect backdrop to ring in 2025.
Keep in mind, this is a 21+ event. Last year a ticket for the festival was $55, and a ticket for the Fly into New Year package was $129.
We’ll update you with the details as soon as we have them for this year.
Enjoy a Show
Before you head to a countdown party – there are tons of other things you can do. One of them is to enjoy a show – and there are so many shows to choose from.
There are comedy acts such as Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club, Cirque Du Soleil Acts such as O and KA, shows such as Absinthe and Burlesque acts such as X Burlesque.
The best part is that unlike some of the events above, prices for shows on NYE generally remain as they normally are. You can find discounted tickets on our dedicated shows page.
Things You Should Know Before You Start Your NYE Party
Celebrating New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas is unlike anywhere else, but there are a few key things you need to know – this will help you have a better time in Vegas.
1. Book Early
Vegas fills up quickly for New Year’s Eve. Whether it’s hotel rooms, tickets for events, or dinner reservations, you’ll want to secure your spot as early as possible. Prices go up the closer it gets to December 31, and many popular events sell out months in advance.
Use our hotel deals to get a room for a great price.
2. Transportation
The Strip is closed to vehicles starting around 6 PM, and fully closed by 8 PM.
Getting around can be tricky. If you’re staying on or near the strip, walking is your best option. If you’re staying further out, plan ahead by booking a ride service or limo early. Public transportation, including buses, will have extended hours, but expect crowds.
3. Dress for the Weather
Las Vegas in December can get surprisingly cold. Temperatures often dip into the low 40s (around 4°C) at night, so be sure to bring warm clothes if you’ll be outside, especially if you’re attending outdoor events like rooftop parties or the Fremont Street Festival.
4. Hydration and Food
With the combination of alcohol and non-stop celebrations, it’s easy to forget to hydrate and eat properly. Drink plenty of water throughout the night, and make time for meals to keep your energy up. Many venues offer all-inclusive drink packages, so take advantage of the food options that are often part of the deal.
5. Security and Safety
Expect increased security measures at all major events and venues. There will be checkpoints at places like Fremont Street and rooftop parties, so leave plenty of time to get through. Bags may be searched, and some areas have restrictions on the size of bags or backpacks you can bring.
6. Backup Plans
Las Vegas can get extremely crowded on New Year’s Eve. Sometimes plans fall through or an event reaches capacity. It’s always a good idea to have a backup option for both your venue and how you’ll get there. Be flexible and patient, as long wait times and crowded streets are the norm.
7. Stay Safe
The most important point of them all – stay safe.
With so many people in town, it’s important to keep your group together and stay aware of your surroundings. Make sure your phone is fully charged and have a plan for where to meet up if you get separated.

Hello Erwan,
We are traveling to Vegas for New Year’s Eve and I’m trying to figure out how one goes about making reservations for that night at the Bellagio steakhouse as you mentioned above. I don’t see any packages online on how to do that.
Hi Sydney! Thanks for reaching out, and I’m glad to hear you’re planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Bellagio – it’s a fantastic choice!

New Year’s Eve:
– The Ice Rink at The Cosmopolitan: Every year, the Cosmopolitan’s rooftop pool transforms into an ice skating rink with views of the Strip’s fireworks. Family-friendly and fun!
– Fremont Street Experience (before evening): During the daytime, Fremont Street has plenty of music, light shows, and a zip line (SlotZilla) for older kids. It’s best to visit earlier in the day, as it gets more adult-focused at night.
– Fireworks Viewing: If you’d like a quieter spot, consider watching the fireworks from a hotel with a Strip view or an outdoor area. The High Roller also offers views of the fireworks for a family-friendly celebration.
I hope this gives you a good start for planning a memorable holiday! Let me know if you’d like more details on any of these activities. Happy holidays!

Hi Erwan! We are stopping in Vegas for a quick two night stay and are staying at the KOA rv resort on Nellis Blvd. We plan to take a Uber to the strip on NYE around 4 pm and leaving back from the strip at 8 pm. Do I need to prebook my 4 pm ride? For the ride back if the strip is closed by 8 pm where would a person catch a Uber ride. Do I need to pre book for a 8 pm ride? We will not be staying on strip till midnight want to leave by 8.
Thanks so much for your help
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out! Here’s some information to help you plan your trip:
1. Pre-booking Uber Rides:
– 4 PM Ride to the Strip: Uber operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and pre-booking is not available. However, during peak times like New Year’s Eve, demand can be high, leading to longer wait times and surge pricing. It’s advisable to request your ride a bit earlier than planned to ensure timely arrival.
– 8 PM Ride from the Strip: The Strip is expected to be closed to vehicle traffic by 8 PM, which may affect Uber’s availability and pickup locations. While you can’t pre-book, you can monitor the Uber app for ride availability and estimated wait times.
2. Uber Pickup Locations on New Year’s Eve:
On New Year’s Eve, Uber has designated pickup locations to manage the large crowds and road closures. For the 8 PM pickup, consider the following options:
– LINQ Promenade: Located behind the High Roller Observation Wheel, this area is a designated Uber pickup spot.
– Mandalay Bay Convention Center Parking Lot: Situated on the west side of the street, this location provides easy access to the I-15 freeway.
– Sahara Las Vegas: Located on the east side of Las Vegas Boulevard with access from Paradise Road and Sahara Avenue.
Please note that these locations are subject to change, and it’s recommended to check the Uber app for the most current information.
3. Alternative Transportation Options:
Given the road closures and potential challenges with Uber pickups, you might consider the following alternatives:
– Las Vegas Monorail: The Monorail operates along the Strip and can be a convenient way to travel between hotels and attractions. It will be the only public transportation running on the Strip during the closure.
– RTC Bus Service: The Regional Transportation Commission offers bus services that can take you close to the Strip. However, be aware of potential detours and delays due to road closures.
I hope this information helps you have a smooth and enjoyable experience in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve. Safe travels!
