Purple Reign is a Prince tribute band fronted by Jason Tenner in the role of Prince, with the music played live and the Purple Rain era at its heart. It plays the V Theater, in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.
The V Theater is a complex of four showrooms, and Purple Reign plays V1, the room of V – The Ultimate Variety Show: 358 seats were on sale on the V Theater's seat map for the night we checked. Rows AA to DD curve around the front of the stage, a center block of rows A to J sits behind them, and a side of angled rows flanks it on each side. Our short answer: the middle of rows AA to DD, or rows C to G for value.
Best seats for Purple Reign
The best seats are the middle of rows AA to DD, sold as VIP: the closest to the stage, curved around its front.
VIP also covers rows A and B of the center block, right behind them, at the same price: a little further back, straight on to the stage, with the whole band in view.
Best value seats
The best value is Preferred, rows C to G of the center block: straight on to the stage, a few rows back, for less than VIP on the date we checked.
Rows H to J, at the back of the center block, are Preferred too. General Admission, the cheapest category, covers both sides of the room; the seats there are still assigned.
Seats to avoid
Skip the ends of rows BB, CC and DD if you can: they're VIP, the same price as the middle of those rows, but they curve round beside the stage, so you see the band from the side.
Rows H to M, at the back of the left side, are the furthest seats from the stage and set at an angle to it. They're General Admission, the cheapest tickets.
Accessible seating
Five wheelchair places sit at the right end of row DD, sold as VIP. The V Theater asks guests who need accessible seating to call 702-260-7200 once they've booked.
Section by section
Rows AA to DD (VIP)
Four curved rows around the front of the stage, the closest seats in the room. Row AA has ten seats, right at the stage; the ends of rows BB to DD wrap round beside it.
Rows A and B, center (VIP)
The first two rows of the center block, numbered 200 and up, straight in front of the stage, at the VIP price.
Rows C to J, center (Preferred)
The rest of the center block: rows C to G, our value pick, then H to J at the back. Row J has only six seats, on the left.
Left side, rows A to M (General Admission)
Thirteen rows angled toward the stage, seats numbered 100 and up, with a staircase behind the last rows.
Right side, rows A to F (General Admission)
A short block between the aisle and the wall, four to six seats a row, numbered 300 and up.
