About the tour
Antelope Canyon Expedition
The Antelope Canyon Expedition is Papillon’s day trip by plane to Page, Arizona, for two of the most photographed places in the Southwest. The plane, a Twin Otter Vistaliner or a Cessna Caravan, leaves Papillon’s air terminal in Boulder City and flies about 90 minutes each way, over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and Glen Canyon.
A vehicle meets you at Page Airport. First stop: Horseshoe Bend, a short walk to the overlook above the Colorado River’s 270-degree loop. Then Antelope Canyon, a slot canyon on Navajo land near the south shore of Lake Powell, which you walk through with a Navajo guide. A box lunch is included, and you spend about 3½ hours on the ground.
Count about 9 hours from hotel pickup to drop-off. Transport from selected Strip and Downtown hotels is an option you pick when you book, with pickup about 60 to 90 minutes before the flight; or drive to Boulder City yourself, 40 to 50 minutes from the Strip. The tour runs every day except December 25.
Everyone must be 8 or older. The tour isn’t wheelchair accessible, isn’t recommended during pregnancy and isn’t open to guests with limited mobility: you go down several sets of stairs into the canyon, which has steep slopes, narrow passages and sandy ground. Wear sturdy shoes.
Everyone 18 and over needs an original REAL ID-compliant license or a passport; without one, Papillon refuses check-in and refunds no one in the booking.
Check in 45 minutes before flight time, or the booking is cancelled as a no-show. Changes are free until 72 hours before departure. Cancelling by then gets you a credit voucher for the full price, good for a year, not a refund; inside 72 hours, no changes or refunds. Reconfirm by phone a day or two ahead.
Passengers of 300 pounds or more pay for an extra comfort seat at check-in. Children up to 11 pay the child fare, everyone 12 and up the adult fare.
