Dig This is a heavy-equipment playground at the south end of the valley, just off Las Vegas Boulevard South. You climb into a real excavator, bulldozer or loader and run it yourself, no experience or driver’s license needed. Single-machine sessions last from 15 minutes on the smallest excavator to 90 minutes on the Big Digs, and combos run up to three and a half hours.
What to expect
Each session starts with a safety briefing and training in the cab, then a warm-up. After that the dirt is yours: depending on the machine, you dig and backfill trenches, push up mounds, move 1,000-pound tires or knock down a tire pyramid and stack it again. Your instructor talks you through it over a wireless headset, the cabs are climate-controlled, and you leave with a certificate and a photo.
The machines run from the 1-Ton Excavator for small kids to a 6-ton excavator, a skid steer, the full-size Big Dig excavator, bulldozer and backhoe, a wheel loader and The Hulk. In the Aggression Session you spray-paint the hood of a car, then crush it with an excavator.
Good to know
The ticket linked on this page is the 15-minute 1-Ton Excavator dig, for ages 2 and up; bigger machines and combos are booked with Dig This directly.
Minimum ages by machine: 8 for the 6-ton excavator and skid steer, 12 for the Big Dig excavator, 14 for the bulldozer, The Hulk and the Aggression Session, 16 for the backhoe and wheel loader.
Kids under 48 inches tall operate with an adult co-pilot in the cab. Big Digs can’t be split between two people.
