Discovering King Tut’s Tomb re-creates the burial chambers of Tutankhamun on the Atrium level at Luxor, the pyramid at the south end of the Strip. It opened in 2022, a century after Howard Carter found the tomb. Every piece is a replica, made by Egyptian artisans using the same traditions as the originals, so you come for the full picture of the burial rather than for ancient objects. Plan on 45 minutes to an hour.
What to expect
You walk through the chambers one after another: the shrines, the sarcophagus, the nested coffins and the treasures buried with the young king. Audio guides are available if you want the story as you go.
At the end, an optional virtual reality segment puts you with Carter’s team at the moment of discovery in 1922.
Good to know
All ages are welcome, and children 3 and under get in free.
Photos are allowed, but skip the flash and leave professional camera gear behind.
The venue is ADA compliant and has seating along the route. Restrooms are outside the exhibit, on the Atrium level.
Last entry is at 7 PM. This is a separate exhibit from Titanic and Bodies at Luxor, with its own ticket.
