Exotics Racing puts you behind the wheel of a supercar on a real road course at SPEEDVEGAS Motorsports Park, about 15 minutes south of the Strip. It moved there from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in late 2021, and the park also has an off-road track and go-karts. The reason to go is the track: 1.3 miles and 10 turns, with hairpins, fast sweepers and a 2,000-foot main straight. Count two to two and a half hours for one or two cars.
What to expect
After check-in comes a technical briefing on the track, then two discovery laps as a passenger in a Porsche Macan S to learn the braking points. Then it’s your turn. The cars include the Porsche Cayman GT4, Audi R8 V10, Mercedes-AMG GT R, Lamborghini Huracán and Ferrari 488 GTB, all automatic with paddle shifters. Your instructor coaches you from the passenger seat, and your lap times are recorded.
Rather ride? Pro drivers take passengers out at full speed, and the drifting ride-along slides a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat through the corners with up to three passengers.
Good to know
Drivers must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license; licenses issued abroad are accepted. Ride-alongs start at age 11 and 59 inches tall.
Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes, ideally sneakers: sandals and heels aren’t allowed, and long hair has to be tied back. Helmets are provided.
There’s no hotel shuttle: take a rideshare, or drive I-15 south to exit 25 (Sloan Road) and turn left on Las Vegas Boulevard South.
Arrive at least 15 minutes before your slot. Alcohol isn’t allowed at the track, nor are your own cameras in the cars.
