Mac King Comedy Magic is a family afternoon show of sleight of hand and comedy from a magician who has headlined in Las Vegas since January 2000. After two decades at Harrah’s, he moved to the Thunderland Showroom at Excalibur in June 2021. The show runs 70 minutes, and King bills it as almost certainly the longest-running one-man show in Las Vegas history.
What to expect
King works in his trademark oversized plaid suit, and the laughs count as much as the tricks. Most of the magic is sleight of hand, live goldfish turn up in a few bits, and he keeps pulling people from the audience into the act. His credits include seven NBC TV specials, three appearances on Penn & Teller: Fool Us, and Magician of the Year from the Magic Castle in Hollywood.
Good to know
It’s pitched as a family show, but sources disagree on the minimum age: if you’re bringing a child under 5, check with Excalibur first.
The showroom is on the Castle Walk level. Take the escalators from the middle of the casino floor, turn right toward the food court, then follow the hallway beside the Thunder Bar.
Out by late afternoon, you still have the evening for dinner or a second show.
Where to sit
Every seat is at a table: on the main level around the stages, in six booths raised slightly behind it, or on an upper level a few feet higher at the back. With no video screens, get as close and as central as you can, in a chair that faces the stage, since many tables sit at an angle to it. The upper level is the value pick. Our Mac King seating chart covers each zone.
